I'm so bad at this

Not that too many of you actually noticed, but it's been over two months since I last blogged! WOAH! But I was thinking about it today and thought, what the heck - I'll fill ya in :)

As many of you know, we're finally married!!!! As this is a surprise to all of you, let me remind you that we have been engaged for over two years ;) ALSO, it was a surprise to us too! Weird huh? We were trying to plan the perfect wedding, which started out as being on April 27, 2013, then, April 27, 2012, then, June 9, 2012, and lastly November 22, 2011! WOW! And it happened to just all fall in place, so I know it was meant to be! And I couldn't be any happier than I am now! On an account that is was so spontaneous and not many people outside of our immediate family knew, we still plan on having a reception in June :) - Looking forward to planning for that, and praying that it all comes together... financially, locationally, guest wise, etc. ALL the fun stuff that we got to surpass the first time around ;)

And, SCHOOL'S out for winter (break)! I suuuure need a break, so I"m enjoying my time with the new Nicholas Sparks book and my wittle kitty Graycee! And maybe you'll get some more posts outta this girl ;)

Staying on top of things...

Well, speaking of staying on top of things... I had to scroll quite a ways down my facebook page to find the last time I blogged. GUILTY. But I'm back, for those of you that actually read this thing... Although probably not many, I like to think of it as good therapy for me.

So, as you know, being that I go to OSU and we are still on quarters as of this year, I have just now made a dent into fall quarter. I really do love and enjoy all of my classes... but there's just this one little thing. Ok, BIG thing... I have a lot of reading. Which to some of you doesn't sound so bad. Reading. That's easy... Well if you're anything like me, you know that reading is like insta-sleep medicine. Kind of like TV... But I realize that in order to successfully pass all my classes I must read. Must do it! As you can probably guess, I am already a tad behind. BUT -- I have implemented a schedule for myself. Today: Abnormal psych and Pathophysiology.
On a positive note, I have met some great people in the SAMP program and am looking for opportunities to get involved. (Anything to beef up my application, for when that time comes around). Speaking of "that time". It's COMING! Didn't think I would be saying that for what felt like forever. One of my classes is preparing us for grad school and all the knitpicky details that go into the testing/application processes. Today the head admissions advisor for the OT/PT programs came to speak with those of us that are interested.. What helpful words... some freighting, but helpful. All I can say is, some day I will be one of those 40.

So, I said I would do some reading.. can't do that one here..

Until next time, Happy Fall. I know you all are enjoying it (cough...cough) as much as I am. (cough... cough)

Wow...

As far as I am concerned I have been going to school to be an Occupational Therapist for two years. But not technically. I say this because I have known what I wanted to be when I grew up for, well, a pretty long time. I went into College head strong, already knowing this was what I wanted to do. Unfortunately it's not that easy. When I told my advisor I wanted to be an Occupational Therapist she didn't simply hand me a key to the front door of OT.
Occupational Therapy is a two year graduate program at OSU. This means I need a BA first.

I decided to go for my BA in Health Sciences. Yes, another application to be submitted. Despite the stress, long weeks, tears, frustration, worry, and overall tiring effort, I was officially accepted into the [SAMP] Health Sciences program with a minor in Clinical Psychology! YAY! What a blessing. (Shout out of special thanks to... Devon, Mom#2 (Deb), Mom (Heather), Nana (Genia), and Grandad (Dennis) I don't know where I would be without all of your love and support, you guys are the best).

As I gear up for my third year of college and first year in the Health Sciences program I have made it a priority to make myself a great choice for the MOT at OSU. Getting a head start, I observed Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and even Recreational Therapists today at Children's Hospital. What an experience! Being a patient myself for years in OT/PT at Grady Memorial Hospital, it was such an eye opener to be on the other side. The atmosphere was very different from what I had expected. Although I spent a few days in the same rehabilitation center when I was twelve years old due to a broken femur bone as a result of a nearly fatal car accident, my memory of the place was foggy.

To respect the privacy of others I will briefly say: Life should never be taken for granted. I try to be a positive person, looking on the bright side, but there are still moments that take your breath away; that make you sit back and think, Wow... I truly am blessed. I may not be perfect, but I am me.

I will be making my way back to Children's next Friday, and let me tell you, I am looking forward to seeing the faces of beautiful children again!

As for now, I am going to enjoy my last few days of freedom!

Getting Started

Why is it that getting started is the hardest thing to do? I am finding that most of the time, the task in sight is not always difficult itself. Motivating my self is usually the biggest challenge. Yet, once I am motivated things always seem to slide in to place, and what a better feeling than accomplishment?! Big or small. Believe it or not, blogging is something I have been interested for quite some time... I just couldn't get myself to do it. There's always something getting in the way... and that something is usually me.
But I'm here, alive and blogging, we shall see how this goes...
Wish me luck :)
